Ingredients

Bottom Chocolate Layer

  • 1 1/4 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter

Nougat Layer

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 cups salted peanuts, roughly chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Caramel Layer

  • 1 14 oz. bag of caramels (Kraft, etc.)
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream

Top Chocolate Layer

  • 1 1/4 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter

Instructions

Bottom Chocolate Layer

  • Line a 9×13" pan with foil or parchment paper and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter in a microwavable bowl on 50% power. Cook for 1 minute and then stir. Cook in 30 second increments until melted.
  • Pour into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Let cool and harden completely.

Nougat Layer

  • Melt butter in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add in sugar and milk, stirring until dissolved and bring to a boil. Let cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add in fluff, peanut butter and vanilla, stirring until smooth.
  • Turn off heat and fold in peanuts, then pour over bottom chocolate layer. Let cool completely.

Caramel Layer

  • Combine unwrapped caramels and whipping cream in a saucepan over low heat. Let melt, stirring occasionally, until smooth – this took about 8 minutes for me.
  • Pour over nougat layer and let cool completely.

Top Chocolate Layer

  • Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter in a microwavable bowl on 50% power. Cook for 1 minute and then stir. Cook in 30 second increments until melted.
  • Pour chocolate over caramel and spread evenly. Let cool and harden completely.
  • Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving, then cut as desired. These can stay at room temperature, but they do get gooey. For best results, keep refrigerated.

Notes

This recipe involves just about every sticky ingredient in your kitchen. For easy clean-up on those tough, stuck-on bits in your saucepan, fill your empty saucepan with water. Place it back on the stove and bring to a boil to release stubborn marshmallow fluff, peanut butter or caramel.
